Business Management

The Business Management module is where you configure your company profile, manage multiple locations, and set up the foundation for all operations in MegaPro ERP.

Overview

Your business profile contains essential information that appears on invoices, receipts, and reports. Proper configuration ensures professional documents and accurate record-keeping.

Tip

Take time to complete your business profile before making transactions. Changes to business details won’t retroactively update past documents.

Key Business Settings

When setting up your business, you’ll configure:

  • Business Identity β€” Name, logo, tagline
  • Contact Information β€” Address, phone, email, website
  • Tax Details β€” Tax registration numbers, default tax rates
  • Financial Settings β€” Currency, fiscal year, accounting method
  • Operational Preferences β€” Time zone, date formats, language

Business Locations

MegaPro ERP supports multi-location businesses out of the box:

  • Each location maintains its own stock quantities
  • Sales and purchases are tracked per location
  • Locations can have different addresses and contact details
  • Users can be assigned to specific locations
  • Reports can be filtered or aggregated by location

Note

Even single-location businesses need at least one location configured. This is created automatically during initial setup.

Business Hierarchy

Understanding the business structure in MegaPro ERP:

Business (Company Level) β”œβ”€β”€ Business Settings (Company-wide) β”œβ”€β”€ Location 1 (Main Store) β”‚ β”œβ”€β”€ Stock β”‚ β”œβ”€β”€ Transactions β”‚ └── Users β”œβ”€β”€ Location 2 (Warehouse) β”‚ β”œβ”€β”€ Stock β”‚ β”œβ”€β”€ Transactions β”‚ └── Users └── Location 3 (Branch) β”œβ”€β”€ Stock β”œβ”€β”€ Transactions └── Users

Best Practices

  • Complete Setup First β€” Configure business details before adding products or making sales
  • Accurate Tax Info β€” Ensure tax registration numbers are correct for compliance
  • Professional Logo β€” Upload a high-quality logo for invoices and receipts
  • Consistent Naming β€” Use clear, consistent names for locations
  • Regular Updates β€” Keep contact information current

Warning

Some business settings (like currency) are difficult to change after you’ve started recording transactions. Plan carefully during initial setup.
